About Us

Mission Statement:

We seek to create a warm, welcoming, and safe place for our clients. Here at CPC we strive to do and to be our best not only in the services we provide but also in the way we view and treat our clients and their families. From the initial contact to the continuation of services, we aim to maintain a high standard of excellence in kindness and professionalism.

The Center for Professional Counseling, LLC, (also known as CPC) is a locally-owned private practice. We believe that personal growth and recovery are possible. We expect that everyone has difficulties at some time or another in life which may require help to get through and arrive at a better place with new skills and insight. Our therapists have the training, skills, and experience to help our clients do just that.

Services:

We offer a wide range of services for men, women, adolescents, and children as young as 3 years old. Our professional staff specializes in mental and emotional disorders, marital counseling, vocational counseling, alcohol and substance abuse, and academic adjustment counseling.

To facilitate proper treatment, diagnostic interviews and evaluations by clinical interviews are provided. Recommendations or treatment plans are made following the initial diagnostic evaluations.

Hours:

Consultation is by appointment only.  Front office hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Appointment time availability varies by therapist.  Our office staff is available for routine appointments, and we attempt to provide availability each day for urgent requests for appointments.

Emergencies:

All telephone calls are handled by calling our regular office number (304) 233-2020.  An after-hours messaging system will be checked periodically by our staff.  In the case of any emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. A list of emergency contacts can also be found here.
